ENTER Digital Era

ENTER Digital Era is a Erasmus+ Key Action 2, Capacity Building in the field of Youth project which aims to promote a renewed co-operation between European and Latin American countries to improve digitalization of Youth, through improved organizational processes of the NGOs, digital and communication skills of the youth worker and their ability to transfer these to young people of the local communities. The activities, corresponding to the principles of Capacity Building in the Field of Youth, will make the NGOs able to reach their targets more effectively.

The project’s activities aim to:

– strengthen the capacity of organizations to better identify and analyse the needs of young people and communities, promoting innovation in methods of research and the integration of these with digital;

– stimulate cooperation and promote synergies between the organizations working in youth sector and those active in the fields of education and training;
– improve the skills and digital competences of youth workers so to innovate working methods, effectiveness, approach to the target audience, evaluation and monitoring of their work;
– improve the online presence of the partner organizations, through know-how transfer with regard to the creation of communication strategies, web and social media strategies promote the digital and technological literacy of the young people as target group of the NGOs involved
– offer, in online mode and Open Content, training and learning opportunities on the digital to youth and youth workers and guarantee on the same subjects opportunities for mobility.

SEPTEMBER 2017

ONLINE INTRODUCTORY AND PREPARATION MEETING

It was the first online preparation meeting that allowed to deepen every aspect related to the implementation of the project and reaffirm the distribution of responsibilities and tasks between partners. The aim of the meeting was to introduce the project and the partners to allow all the organizations to get to know the Consortium in depth and to prepare and organize the first meeting in Colombia. During the meeting, the more specific aspects of Erasmus+ KA2 were discussed in depth.

KICK-OFF MEETING

The aims of the meeting were to strengthen the work team by developing mutual knowledge and trust; to define the coordination and division of labour and tasks with respect to the project objectives; to present the various territorial contexts of the partners. The Consortium has also produced a time schedule containing the programme lines to be followed in the coming months and the division of labour among the partners.

ONLINE U-MEETINGS

Throughout the project, following the initial conference and to give continuity to the meetings in Mussomeli and Antalya, the two universities and Cultural Association Strauss, as project coordinator and NGO stakeholders, have carried out activities of coordination and evaluation of the steps taken and further planning.

ONLINE COORDINATION MEETINGS

During the project the partners carried out coordination activities and online training, through special video-conference software. We have also combined the coordination activities with ice-breaking activities and testing of one or more digital tools for meeting, to be used during local digitization workshops.

COORDINATION MEETING 1 – Universities Study Group

Mussomeli, Italy

Meeting between the universities and Strauss to refine and continue the joint work. Through simulations and case studies, the study on new methods of investigation of the needs of youth and the local community was deepened, so that they could be characterized as the result of the integration between traditional-scientific methods and new digital and technological tools. The product of the activity was a more developed and clearer work programme, to be applied to the various territorial contexts.

TRAINING COURSE FOR YOUTH WORKERS

The Training Course, through the ENF, wanted to develop the skills and abilities of Youth Workers to support the digitization of young people in local communities, through the use of digital tools, social media and creative and attractive ways of exploiting them, which enhance the activism of young people, with particular attention to their civic engagement.

EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE ACTIVITIES

12 young people took part in the European Voluntary Service (6 Europeans in South America and 6 South Americans in Europe) who, although in different geographical and social contexts, in full synergy with the missions and activities of their hosting organizations, worked on projects aimed at encouraging the “digitalisation” of the youth and local community in the host country, in order to promote the social inclusion and active participation in civil society of young people with fewer opportunities.
The activities of EVS were aimed to:
– transfer important key digital competences to young people
– promote the values of inclusion, solidarity and tolerance in Europe and South America
– foster processes of active citizenship and participation in the local community
– promote cultural diversity
– provide support to local young people who are disadvantaged compared to peers, especially in the digital field.

DIGITALIZATION LOCAL WORKSHOPS

Each partner, involving different stakeholders, has promoted digitalisation workshops on its territory, including EVS volunteers in their organisation. The workshops included many participants with fewer opportunities who, during the months of European Voluntary Service, held several meetings, with the aim of:
– Developing important skills in the use of digital tools
– Learning to communicate on the web
– learning the basics of marketing and personal branding
– promoting non-formal learning mobility at regional and international level

APRIL 2019

COORDINATION MEETING 2 – Universities Study Group

Antalya, Turkey

Universities and Strauss met in Turkey to conclude the study on the new survey methods developed and to take stock of the effect and effectiveness achieved. Moreover, on the basis of the collected data, an impact study of all project activities on non-profit organizations, young people, local communities and other stakeholders was defined. Finally, a presentation of the study was prepared for the final meeting in Mexico and for publication.

MAY 2019

FINAL EVALUATION MEETING

The latest international event was created to share and evaluate, through presentations and workshops, the results of the project, the final products, the Open Content platform and the T-Kit and to define the follow-up. The event ended with the organization of a final conference open to the public, non-profit organizations, institutions, universities, young people and other stakeholders to illustrate the project results, activities, impact and final products to the public, in an official manner.
